My Story
1991 California. 1993 Connecticut.
Dee Rose Barba, born in Torrance, California in 1991 and raised in Stamford, Connecticut since 1993, draws inspiration from her experiences. Holding degrees in both Interior Design and Fine Arts from the University of New Haven, as well as a Master of Fine Arts from Western Connecticut State University, Dee Rose's multidisciplinary approach to art is reflected in her two-dimensional and three-dimensional works.
Working across various mediums such as oil paint on wood fiber boards, watercolor pencils and pen on paper, and mixed media compositions incorporating plaster, wire, textile fibers, and oil paint, Dee Rose's art explores profound themes of connection through the human emotions, animal consciousness, and the transient nature of memory in her landscapes. Dee Rose Barba's work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions since 2010, including notable shows such as the Shim Invitational II at Art Helix Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, and the I Am … 4th Annual at Kehler Liddell Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut. Additionally, her art is a regular feature at Compassionfest in Hamden, Connecticut, where she shares her passion for creativity and compassion.
Currently based in North Haven, Connecticut, Dee Rose continues to push the boundaries of her artistic expression, inviting viewers to contemplate the beauty and complexity of the human experience, as well as the natural world, including animals and landscapes, through her thought-provoking creations.
